Learning to love and trust ourselves from the inside out

“Starting in high school, I remember being unhappy about my weight. Until my mid 20’s, I had lost, gained, lost, and gained weight significant weight-up and down for over 10 years. At one point in my mid 20’s, I had gone to the local health clinic for a check up.

At Keene State College, just after high school, I met and made friends with a fellow student who was in the nursing program there. Ten years later, at this local health clinic, wouldn’t you know it? She was now working there. I remember the shock on her face when she saw me there. Back in college I taught aerobics and ran every day. I was thin then; it was during one of my “skinny years”. And now I had puffed up to 212 pounds. She was awkward in seeing this body of mine, I was oblivious and chatty, thrilled to see her.”
