Welcome to Simple Swim, Fitness and Health!
This is exciting as I have been looking forward to having all my services under one roof sorta speak. So I am thrilled to be writing my first blog on my new website! Admittedly I did do a little dance to celebrate. We must celebrate the big and the little wins-little wins add up to the big ones!
I’ll start with a bit of an intro. I’ve been spinning around the sun on this big blue marble for over 60 years. My younger self hadn’t really thought about my 60 year old self and how great I could feel at this point in my life. Staying healthy and fit has always been a priority for me. Sometimes I got it wrong and made mistakes, but I’ve learned from them and gratefully this is how I landed where I am now.
At this writing I have my first off road triathlon of the year coming up in May. I am excited to get out there! My fitness is feeling spot on for this event. I’ve spent the winter training for swimming, biking and running but an even bigger part of my preparation has been my daily habits of mobility work through foam rolling, targeted stretching, and yoga. Nutrition has been at the top as well to ensure I have an appropriate balance of carbohydrates, fats and protein to support my daily life as well as the training. At 60 muscle growth and maintenance are key, otherwise I would not be able to sustain both training and busy active days.
So what you can expect in these simple blog bubblings is more about swimming, strength, fitness, daily activities, nutrition, mindset, balancing it all and more! I am thrilled to have you join me in this journey.
